General Music 10

Summary of Course Content and Activities

CREDITS: 5 
At the start of the year, students will create a program plan. To successfully finish the course, students must submit two video recordings and log 125 hours of practice.

Students have the option of voice or instrumental music. 

Philosophy statement for teaching this course

We want to encourage students to use their God given gifts as well as learn and try new things.  By creating a program plan for each student individually, we are able to take students current music ability and help continue to develop skills.

Instrumental Music 10/20/30

In Instrumental Music 10, 20, or 30, students' grades are determined by their performance in official exams administered by either Conservatory Canada or the Royal Conservatory of Music. To earn 5 credits, students must successfully pass both the practical and theory exams at the corresponding course level.

The breakdown of the overall grade is 70% for the practical exam and 30% for the theory exam.

Students can receive credits for completed or ongoing official instrumental exams.

Choral Music 10/20/30

In Choral Music 10, 20, or 30, students' grades are determined by their performance in official exams administered by either Conservatory Canada or the Royal Conservatory of Music. To earn 5 credits, students must successfully pass both the practical and theory exams at the corresponding course level.
