A: Our Shared Responsibility program covers Gr. K-12.
Q: What is the registration fee to enrol in the Shared Responsibility program?
A: There is no cost to register in our Shared Responsibility program for Alberta residents.
Q: Do students enrolled in the Shared Responsibility program have to follow the Alberta Education outcomes?
A: Yes, students in our Shared Responsibility follow the Alberta Education outcomes in any teacher-directed courses they choose (Online or PBR) program, but do not have to follow the outcomes in any parent-directed courses they choose (Home Education).
Q: Do students in the Shared Responsibility program get assigned a support teacher?
A: Yes, a home education facilitator will be assigned to your student for the parent-direction portion of their program. After your registration is accepted, you will be connected with your facilitator, who will meet with you in the fall and in the spring. Your facilitator is also available to assist throughout the year via email, Phone or Google Meets.
Q: Can someone assist me in choosing resources?
A: Yes, your home education facilitator will assist you in choosing resources for the parent-directed portion of your student’s program.
Q: Do I get support creating my home education plan?
A: Yes. Although we encourage you to design your own individualized learning plan, if you are struggling to complete your home ed plan, your facilitator would be more than happy to assist you. Please request support upon registration.
Q: Are report cards issued in the Shared Responsibility program?
A: Yes, in our Shared Responsibility program, report cards are issued for any teacher-directed course (Online or PBR). Report cards are not issued for parent-directed (Home Education) courses.
Q: Do you offer Activity Days?
A: Yes! We offer a wide range of activity days for our students.
Q: Do you offer funding within the Shared Responsibility program?
