Celebration Events

At NorthStar, celebration is more than an event—it’s part of who we are. Just as Paul expressed joy and gratitude for the early church, we rejoice in the partnerships, friendships, and shared learning that define our community. By taking time to honor growth, recognize effort, and encourage one another, we affirm that learning is not just about academics but about growing together in faith, connection, and Kingdom impact.

In-Person Celebrations

Throughout the year, we come together for school-wide, in-person events that strengthen relationships, build community, and provide opportunities to connect and celebrate accomplishments:

  • Back-to-School BBQ – Kicking off the year with connection and fellowship.
  • Regional Christmas Parties (North & South Alberta) – Bringing families together to celebrate the season.
  • Open House & Student Showcase – A time to highlight student learning and achievements.
  • Graduation – Honouring our graduates as they step into their next chapter.

Virtual Celebrations

We also celebrate achievements in our virtual spaces, fostering a culture of gratitude and encouragement where every member of our school community feels valued and supported:

  • Moodle Celebration Events – Past events have included Truth and Reconciliation assemblies, 12 Days of Christmas Kindness, and the Read-a-Thon.
  • "You’ve Been Framed" Bulletin Board – Showcasing the dedication and accomplishments of teacher-directed students.
  • Community Shout-Outs – A way for students, parents, teachers, and staff to acknowledge and appreciate each other’s contributions.
